To create an urban safe haven for visual expression/painted images/graffiti Jump Street will co-opt the tagging phenomenon and flip it from anxiety-causing violent posturing to inclusive public expressions of art and civic engagement by creating Peace Walls (PW) in 2 neighborhoods isolated from each other by cultural differences. The walls (billboard on the ground) will be the intake system for an interactive collective. We will invite all to participate by painting creative images and tagging the walls. We will capture images via digital video/photography and re-paint the walls for the next cycle. The images will be uploaded to the web and linked to technologies to allow users to add spoken word/musical/visual responses. Web content will cause a creative feedback loop to drive a new cycle of PW tags. Community festivals will occur with the collective's art being projected on PW as backdrop for live performances.
