The Big Read

JUMP STREET invites you to be part of The Big Read.

“What’s The Big Read?” you ask.

The Big Read is an initiative funded by the National Endowment of the Arts to get teens and adults in one geographic region reading and discussing the same book.  JUMP STREET is one of only 269 agencies across the country chosen to administer this very special program!

JUMP STREET has chosen Fahrenheit 451 as the book for the capital region to read.  In the futuristic society author Ray Bradbury has created, it is a crime to possess and read books.  In Fahrenheit 451, the temperature at which paper burns, firefighters start fires; they do not extinguish them.

To encourage reading this novel of censorship, defiance, and redemption, JUMP STREET will give FREE resource materials to any individual, reading group, or class of students requesting them.  For study guides, teacher guides, bookmarks, and audio cds with background information on Fahrenheit 451, call or e-mail JUMP STREET for your free materials today.  Jump Street welcomes your phone call and your visit to pick up the materials!
