Live a little and Learn a lot
in Pennsylvania by exploring the history
and heritage of the quest for freedom
through great literature.



Live and Learn weekends are an experiment in education tourism meant to strengthen the Pennsylvania Quest for Freedom network. Thus statewide network of organizations, with regional hubs across the state, i8n exploring " a legendary human system of action that links 19th-century advocacy to 20th-century social change and the Civil War to Civil Rights"

Live and Learn weekends will strengthen the network in four ways.

 

  • Attract visitors interested in the Underground Railroad and the Civil War era to the Quest Network
    • .

  • Create high-quality, enjoyable learning experiences increasing individuals' understanding of Pennsylvania's pas and present and a desire to learn more.
    • -

  • Encourage the Quest for Freedom network to  produce innovative programming, connect individuals to diverse cultural resources , and advocate for the value of history.
    • -

  • Foster relationships between statewide organizations and the Quest for Freedom network that will support the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's playing a national leadership role for the anniversary of the Civil War, 2011-2015.
