Melissa Snyder began her tenure with Jump Street as an office & Derby Day volunteer and was hired in 2007 as Jump Street’s Program Administrator where she was responsible for The Gift of Music, and™ magazine, and the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts program. In August 2014, Ms. Snyder became Jump Street’s Interim Executive Director. Ms. Snyder is Jump Street’s key management leader and is responsible for the overall strategic and operational administration of the organization while dutifully executing the mission of the Jump Street. Ms. Snyder has been in the arts services industry for over 8 years and still personally administers Jump Street’s Gift of Music program and The Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Program. Ms. Snyder is a consultant for the PA Council on the Arts’ Preserving Diverse Cultures program and has completed the Fundraising for Professionals Certification and the Non Profit Management Certification Program through Millersville University.
Jeff Copus, Arts Education Director
Jeff Copus serves as Jump Street’s Arts Education Director. Mr. Copus helps to create strategic partnerships with artists, schools, government, and community organizations.
In 2014, Mr. Copus began working with Jump Street as an artist launching Sprocket Mural Works, then working as an artist in education. Prior to working at Jump Street, he worked at nonprofits building programs, developing school-based partnerships, and advocating for children in need.
Mr. Copus is an award winning visual artist, published author, and has presented internationally on the power of art in community building. Mr. Copus earned his Master’s degree in communications at Penn State University – Harrisburg, where he has served as an adjunct faculty member.
Jamie Jastrzembski, Program Director
Jamie Jastrzembski coordinates both of Jump Street’s major arts events, Artsfest and Art of the State.
Ms. Jastrzembski coordinates all Artsfest festival activities from the jurying process of over 300 artists & food vendors to working with city government and public works officials. She also leads over 60 volunteers for this three day festival held annually over Memorial Day Weekend.
The Art of the State exhibit, Pennsylvania’s only statewide juried art exhibit, is a collaborative effort between Jump Street and the Pennsylvania State Museum. Ms. Jastrzembski works in conjunction with the State Museum on maintaining a statewide database of over 6,000 artists. She also aids the museum in installing the exhibit and coordinating the opening reception held annually in June.
Ms. Jastrzembski holds degrees in both Art History and Photography from Arcadia University. She also owns a very rad dog.
